ABOUT US
Forager
The Forager name is a nod to a family tradition passed down through the Fitzells—California’s first druggists in the late 1800s. From their 800-acre ranch in Humboldt County, they wildcrafted medicines and dispensed them through spirits from their legally authorized stills.
Today, we carry that same spirit of 'wildcrafting' into everything we do. Whether it’s sourcing local honey and grains or crafting a cocktail from the season's peak, we are continuing a century-old story of purity, craft, and community—one micro-batch at a time.

Meet the Legend Behind the Label 🐒🍸
Our Drunken Monkey wallpaper is more than just a fun backdrop — it’s a tribute to Central Coast Distillery’s founder and fearless flavor explorer, Eric, affectionately known as “Big Chango” (Spanish for "Big Monkey"). The nickname captures his spirit: bold, curious, and never afraid to swing into something new. As the heart and hands behind our Forager label, Eric brings serious passion to his craft— but he never forgets to enjoy the ride. That same playful energy is woven into every bottle we make… and now, splashed across our walls. 📸 So go ahead — strike a pose, snap a selfie, and tag us! Use #BigChangoVibes or tag @centralcoastdistillery so we can raise a glass to you too. Let’s make this monkey famous. 🐒✨
